Unique Ewe designs are created using recycled materials purchased from organizations such as Goodwill Industries, The Salvation Army, and various local non-profit organizations. The money obtained from the purchase of these supplies helps to reach out to those in need; support victims of violence, feed the hunger, shelter the homeless.
Using already existing materials reduces the burden on our landfills. The amount of chemicals needed to create new materials and fabrics is vastly reduced, as is, the energy needed to dispose of the byproducts and waste.
Unique Ewe products combine many types of reused fabrics to create each unique design. Re-purposed wool is most often used in the creation of fall and winter mittens, hats, scarves and jackets. In order to insure that each item is the warmest and most comfortable that it can be, newly purchased fleece is used as the lining material. This material is however a “green” product, in that fleece is made from recycled soda bottles!
Care instruction labels are found inside each garment. Most often children’s clothing are washable in cold water, however, dry cleaning is suggested for most of the women’s garments due to the combination of fabrics. The care instruction label specifies, “Cold Wash Gentle” or “Please Dry Clean Green”. Please, check your local directory for cleaners who use ecologically friendly chemicals for the dry-cleaning process.
